Lux Jam II was a game jam sponsored by Lana Lux which took place in December of 2020. The theme for the jam was announced on stream on December 4th, 2020 to be Hack the Planet and we had 72 hours to complete. For this jam I decided to go with a more literal interpretation of the theme by creating a “Fruit Ninja” style game where you hack planets to pieces. The gameplay is pretty straight forward. Planets get tossed in front of you like the fruit from Fruit Ninja and you use the mouse to slice them in half. If you miss one you get a strike. Additionally there are suns that get thrown in with the planets that if you hit one you will also get a strike. If you get three strikes by either missing planets or hitting suns the game ends.
All the code was written by me with the exception of the library that actually did the mesh slicing (see below). Additionally I used the following assets:
- Mesh Slicing – https://github.com/DavidArayan/ezy-slice
- Music
- Dark Fantasy Studios
- Sound
- Graphics and other Assets
- Polygon Arsenal (Archanor VFX)
- POLYGON – Sci-Fi Space Pack (Synty Studios)
