This is a simple match three game created in Unity. It is the end result of taking Wilmer Lin’s course on Udemy titled “Make a Match-Three Puzzle Game in Unity”. I highly recommend Wilmer’s courses, they are pretty comprehensive. What I enjoyed the most was the iterative process of starting from scratch and building the game up to the end. I’ve taken pretty much all of them and learned a great deal.
The game is pretty simple, swap shapes to create matches of the same shape in patterns of 3 or more. If you manage to get 4 or more in a row special power ups can spawn that help clear a line or a row. There are multiple game modes that were built as part of the course but right now only one is playable which requires you to get a specific number of points in a fixed number of moves. There are also power ups which are usable from the side, however there is no limit on these, and some only apply to specific game modes (e.g. ones that add more time)
Later on I began to tinker with the project and added in some different assets. The project is a bit buggy because of my tinkering, but one I plan on revisiting it and making some improvements.
